80 Years Ago Today

I've been a Notre Dame fan since I was a kid, something some folks find a bit odd... Seeing as I'm from the city that bleeds Burnt Orange. Initially as a child I didn't care much for sports, I mean I liked playing, what kid doesn't but I didn't want to sit around and watch hours of games when playing was much more enjoyable. But at church on Sunday's after mass Father John would talk about Notre Dame Football games and the passion in his voice was just the same as his service. He'd go on and on about their losses and what they should or could have done or he'd speak proudly as they triumphantly conquered opponents. His recaps were amazing and it stirred excitement in me, I wanted to know more about the Fighting Irish he talked about and that began my love of Notre Dame.

As I got older I was more involved in organized sports (Football) I even took timeouts away from playing outside to catch games and sat in awe as the Gold Helmets took the field. I often dreamt of attending Notre Dame with hopes of being a part of the tradition and maybe even trying out for the team. Haha. I never made my way to South Bend but the tradition became a part of me. On game days I'd watch with excitement and took cues from the fans in the stands as they chanted and cheered, the history was becoming apart of me and I was becoming a part of it, I was... No, I am Notre Dame.

You can't be a Notre Dame Football fan and not know the name Knute Rockne, the man is a legend. 80 years ago today a plane crashed in Bazaar, Kansas, Knute Rockne was on that flight, he died at the age of 43. 80 years later his legend lives on.

Crispy Bang

“I wanna be famous” – That’s what my “potnuh” tells me when he sees me. When he found out about my blog (Sweet Bottle of Bang) he thought it was the coolest thing, he’d check it out every now and then and then text me comments about it. The content got his attention and he became a regular follower.

Since then he’s been hinting at getting something started. I like the idea of working on a project and working with someone; on top of that it’s an opportunity to explore another creative side.

As of this post we have one BIG idea and another idea we’re trying to figure out. It’s slow-goin and currently only in brainstorm mode but we hope to get this stone rolling very soon. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a visual creature and I appreciate a target to aim for so I created a logo for “idea”… A difficult task as we’re still not sure what direction the currents will take us but I needed something to take this from an idea to fruition.

The thinking space in my skull was in full effect when trying to come up with a name for our “brand” something relevant, something memorable, and something interesting. A few ideas sparked but never caught fire until I came up with a combination of our two personas Crispy (A play on his name) and Bang (Taken from my blog) and there you have it Crispy Bang.

We’re still not sure what the destination is but we’re ready to ride
.

"I Wanna Get Cake Wasted"

On Lil Money's birthday we decided that we'd hit up Red Robin for dinner. After dinner he enjoyed his first bit of sugar (As far as I know, everyone seems to be in a hurry to junk-food him up) and he seemed to love it. Take a look.

Wait... You mean I can eat it?
Where have you been hiding this stuff?
Whoa man, I think I had too much. Time for milk and a nap.
Alright, alright, enough with the pictures.

Young Money In The Place To Be

A year ago today you entered the world, just a tiny little guy. Today, a year later, you’re a little ball of energy with you're own little personality… Jumping, climbing, crawling, dancing and playing. And that’s not even half of it. You’ve changed my life and I love it.

This year I learned how to change diapers and I can even do it without gagging (most times at least). I learned that crawling is horrible on the knees but so much fun when I’m chasing you. I learned that your shoes are impossible to get on and as soon as I finally get the second one on you’ve already taken off the first one and your sock. Okay, you win. I've learned that everything I've known is knew and exciting when seen through your eyes.

This has been one of the best years of my life, I look forward to many more. I love you and Happy Birthday!

The Great Outdoors

Lil Money and I took a quick trip to The Great Outdoors for a bit of a photo shoot. The Wife and I (Mostly The Wife) have been planning The 1st Annual Bash for a while now... And by a while I mean since he was about 2-3 months. Pretty much coming up with ideas here & there and then tweaking those ideas. The Wife has been creating all kinds of things for the party, my eye can't really make sense of her ideas until I see them transformed, from what I've seen this is going to be a pretty rad bash.

So... Lil Money and I stopped in to try to get some solid shots for his invitation. The Wife had previously tried out another idea but the weather didn't quite work out in her favor. I'd been wanting to take a trip to TGO and with the Spring-like weather, the timing was flawless. Below are some of my favorites from the shoot.

Photo Booth Party

... And that's how the with the mobile strip slash menudo truck ended.

Oh hey, I didn't know anyone was here... Let's change the subject.
So after Big Bite we headed South to JJ World Studio for some photographic awesomeness. This won't be a long winded post, but let me say that this is probably the most fun I've had in front of a camera in a long time. The shop is an awesome mix of vinyl records, vintage clothing and rare frames. The walls are filled with beautiful work in vibrant colors that invite you to visit just a little longer. Our photographer was great, she made us feel comfortable and like seasoned models, working with her was too easy... I can not wait until next time. I highly recommend JJ World Studio for your party and/or photography needs.

Let the party begin.
